Paola has a degree in foreign languages at the Interpreter’s School of Rome. Her love for cooking was born since she was a child and played in her grandparent’s restaurant inside Cinecitta movie studios.
From her mother, a refined and exacting cook, she learned the secrets and techniques of Italian cuisine that during the time she studied in depth and improve by attending a number of specialization courses.
She practiced her cooking with passion in a few small yet gourmet restaurants; after leaving Rome and settling in Casperia she wanted to transfer her experience and love for Italian traditional food especially to foreign people.
That’s why she set up Gusto al Borgo Cooking School where hundreds of foreigners learned basic tasty Italian recipes and lots of professional foreign chefs were trained acquiring an overall good knowledge of Italian cuisine that they still practice in their everyday professional activity.
Franco, Paola’s husband, has been for years a commercial manager.
Since they left Rome and settled in Casperia, he discovered his passion for gardening.
Now he grows organic vegetables in his garden and takes care of his olive grove where he produces the famous Sabina extra virgin olive oil.
He’s very proud even of his homemade red wine: a delicious combination of Sangiovese and Nebiolo grapes.
You’ll be able to try the freshness and tasty quality of all these products when preparing and eating the various dishes that Paola will make you try at our Gusto al Borgo cooking school.
